JOEL OLSON
November 4, 1967 – March 29, 2012
Joel Olson was an associate professor of political theory at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff and a social justice activist. Olson graduated with a PhD in political theory from the University of Minnesota. He was a professor of great kindness and decency; a teacher of unquenchable passion and inspiration; a foremost scholar of Critical Race Studies; and an eloquent spokesman for the oppressed.
Above all, he was a loving husband and father, and a much loved brother and son. While his loss will be forever, the example of his life lives on. Whether you knew him as a friend or as a teacher, he will always be a role model for a life fully and nobly lived.
IN LOVING MEMORY
This archive is a portal to the lifework of Joel Olson. Here you will find his academic work, teaching materials and his political writing, in addition to other things. We maintain this site in the loving memory of our dear friend. It is a living archive, with new stuff added as we receive it. If you have something to contribute, please write us at: editor@joelolson.net. If you care for him as much as we do, or were transformed by him as much as we were, please consider signing the guestbook.
